Re: Mutants & Masterminds

Certainly. Probably. Depends on your pitch, but Mutants and Masterminds is an excellent start.

Re: Mutants & Masterminds

Ah yes!

I'm a huge fan of Golden Age of Superheroes (1938 to 1950), with all the fun of beating up Nazi spies, mad scientists and fedora wearing mobsters. It was the era that gave us Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Captain America, Plastic Man... well you get the point. :)

I realise not everyone would want to play in the 1940s though.

I'm a fan of the genre in general.

Re: Mutants & Masterminds

M&M 3rd is a popular system.  Like many others I am interested it just goes from there. I have several ideas I've been tossing around in hopes of playing some day. (or playing in a game that doesn't quickly die)

Are original settings preferred or an established one?

Original. Not yet-another-clone full of flame wars over canon.

I'd actually be happy with any of them, though my preference leans towards the first two.

With Bronze Age and (even more) Modern it depends on whether supers are a recent development or had their origins decades later. You get into things like legacy heroes (and villains!)

Re: Mutants & Masterminds

Do you prefer legacy over new heroes?

Re: Mutants & Masterminds

Actually I happy with either but I think it creates interesting opportunities (in a Golden or Silver Age game where the NPCs are likely amongst the first heroes around obviously it doesn't matter.)
