HARP/Rolemaster

Looking over my buddy's collection of these books I'd like to run a small, quick adventure with the system to see how it all goes. Thinking 4-5 members, levels 1-4 with a quick premise: save a city in the path of some horror or another, clear out a dungeon, or something like that. The creation process seems somewhat involved, but once the characters are made it seems like it shouldn't be that hard.

Re: HARP/Rolemaster

Ooooh, I love me some Rolemaster.

Can you point out exactly which version? Either way, I'm in. Heck, I'm even willing to play a healer-type to keep the party going.

Re: HARP/Rolemaster

I would definitely be interested in playing in a Rolemaster adventure.

Re: HARP/Rolemaster

I was eyeing my stack of brown books today thinking that I need me some RM.

Re: HARP/Rolemaster

The system I would be using is actually High Adventure Role-Playing (HARP) and as it is the first time I'd run such a game I would actually be sticking with just the one core book for the game (I fear to many resources might overwhelm me).

The copy write on page 2 places it at 2003/2004, if that helps.

Re: HARP/Rolemaster

I've got that but never played it, sounds good.

Re: HARP/Rolemaster

I've never played HARP but I'm willing to learn a new system.

Re: HARP/Rolemaster

In reply to Finlos (msg # 7):

If you have played Rolemaster, like I know you have, HARP is a simpler version of RM with a different handling of the spell system.  But the concepts are pretty much the same.  I thought I had the core book, but apparently I do not or I would pipe in my interest as well.

Re: HARP/Rolemaster

A simpler version of Rolemaster?  I am now potentially very interested in this and hopefully a game does start up from this.

And yes, you do start to recognize certain names over time.

Re: HARP/Rolemaster

Alright, there is clearly plenty of interest, so I'm ready to close this down and start up the game.
