IC: Dark Sun using Only War/Dark Heresy 2nd Edition

Last night while wondering through the strange thought lands of early sleep I came upon the idea of converting Dark Sun to the Dark Heresy system. It has everything to give the setting the elements it always should have had. Dangerous combat, deadly psychic abilities, corrupting magics, and truly nasty monsters without the pitfalls of AD&D*. It would be divorced a bit from the typical AD&D cosmology but that doesn't hurt the setting at all.

So the questions is: before I start the conversion work is there any interest in it?

*Don't take this the wrong way. I love AD&D. It is my first love in gaming. That doesn't me I don't recognize when it doesn't suit a particular setting.

I read a few dark sun books in my youth but it has been a while.
Are you thinking playing as full on space marines or just humans in the service of the empire?

Will you be attempting to make it humans only and everything else is Xenos or just not have the Thri-kreen, Muls, etc in the universe? I mean it sounds like an interesting idea, just not sure what all you are going to be doing with it.

It's not going to be a Warhammer 40K game. It's just going to use that system. It will be a Dark Sun game. All the races will be there. The classes will be there as specialties. Kits will be there as advanced specialties. No Emperor. No Space Marines. It would be a Dark Sun game in a different system.

I have played the system twice with a lot of guidance.
It was the tabletop verson so didn't do much in charcter sheets.

I'll need so help but I am more then willing to learn.

This sounds like a great idea? How would you do magic vs psionics? Or just everything one system?

Potentially I was looking at doing psionics much like they are presented in the Dark Heresy system with some tweaks and using the sorcery rules from Black Crusade as a model for magic but I am also wanting to take a look at Warhammer Fantasy's magic system before I decide. Using psionics and rituals to me feels more thematic. The AD&D Vancian magic versus psionics never quite sat right with me for the setting. The idea of it all coming back to psionics but the wizards learning to harness the land's power to enhance their own powers and channel greater sorceries feels right. The Dragon Kings and the Avangions make more sense under that logic, I believe.
