Something, Something, Scion: Hero
Hey RPoL. I apologize in advance for the length of this interest check and just how much information I'm providing, but I'm trying to get the non-game-specific stuff out of the way here, since that's what the forum allows for. Yes, I am this thorough pretty much all the time.
So, based on a post in the Wanted - GM section, I'm looking to run a Scion: Hero game sometime in the near future (whether it reaches higher levels is up to the players). The only problem I'm having right now is I'm not 100% certain what people would be looking for in a Scion game besides a little bit of mythos exploration. The problem with that, as you might guess, is that there is a lot of mythos out there, and it crosses just about every genre imaginable if you dig deep enough.
The last time I ran Scion was a while ago, so I'll need people willing to let me catch up with where I used to be (meaning a semi-stumbling GM at times). Also, while I haven't run Scion in a while, I do GM often enough to know that I have a certain style when it comes to GMing that not everyone agrees with all the time. So, in this interest check, I need to make certain that people would be alright with my style in advance, since I can do just about any genre.
-I tend to run my games in sandbox-style worlds that evolve as things go along. This means player decisions mean something to both the world and the plot, but that the world will keep going if they stand still for some reason.
-I can, and do, always have a 'main plot' arc that players are free to follow as they wish. You may recognize this style as the 'classic JRPG' method, where sidequests and non-story things to do are everywhere, just waiting for people to take the bait. I promise that the main quest will always having flashing lights leading people to the next plot point, or at least my definition of flashing lights.
-I do not encourage PvP in any form, I don't really like it either, but I prefer that disputes are settled in-character so that conflicts between characters are resolved as naturally as possible. Therefore, when/if it comes down to it a roll is a perfectly valid method of IC conflict dispute, social or otherwise.

As far as Scion goes specifically, I have a pretty wide knowledge base of the different pantheons, and am always willing to do more research, but off the top of my head I've got four different levels of knowledge with the different pantheons:
Intimate Knowledge (Names, mythos, interrelations) - Dodekatheon (Greek), Aesir (Norse), Amatsukami (Japanese)
Passing Knowledge (most names, some mythos) - Tuatha de Da'Nann (Irish), Aztlanti (Mayan), Pesedjet (Egyptian)
Negligible Knowledge (some names, maybe one myth) - Loa (Africa/Voodoo), Devas (Indian), Celestial Bureaucracy (Chinese), Yazata (Persian)
Irrelevant Knowledge - The other Pantheons (Yankee, Allied, Atlantean, etc.) are both not allowed in any of my games and, well, in my opinion just not worth considering anyways beyond very, very specific game ideas which I don't care to run.
So, keeping that all in mind, is there any interest in a Scion game run by the one and only Tyr (yes, I'm aware of my name being from the Norse pantheon, you'll have to accept that as well)?
