Really interesting concept. I'm down, if you don't mind having to help me a bit system wise, as I'm not familiar with Fate or Cypher. :P

This sounds like a module I saw written for traveller several years back. I may still have a copy of the statistics for space craft that can be used with the current version of traveller or converted from one of the previous versions.

I think traveller supplies the hard scifi side of this rather well if done right.

Nope, sorry, I won't be using Traveller. This thread is supposed to be about expressing interest in the idea, not about suggesting mechanics or systems for me to use.

You will not be required to be familiar with Cypher or Fate, because I will be using a homebrew system. The focus will not be on the system, but on the story and the decisions you make thereof.

Mostly because it's FATE, I'm interested.  The idea sounds intriguing, but I don't like the idea of jumping between characters *too* often.  Judging from previous experience, I think I'd be okay with a game that, at a fast post rate of one post per character per day, I'd be okay with switching once every two or three months.  More specifically, I definitely want closure between characters, and not have to make multiple characters I have to play all at the same time.  Other than that, I would really enjoy this game.  :)

it is possible to use the same cast for a majority of the game, starting from the point near future where we have ftl or at least approaching the speed of light, and we ride out the effects of time dilation.
