Secure. Contain. Protect. (A Unisystem SCP IC)

Mission Statement

Operating clandestine and worldwide, the Foundation operates beyond jurisdiction, empowered and entrusted by every major national government with the task of containing anomalous objects, entities, and phenomena. These anomalies pose a significant threat to global security by threatening either physical or psychological harm.

The Foundation operates to maintain normalcy, so that the worldwide civilian population can live and go on with their daily lives without fear, mistrust, or doubt in their personal beliefs, and to maintain human independence from extraterrestrial, extradimensional, and other extranormal influence.

Our mission is three-fold:

Secure

The Foundation secures anomalies with the goal of preventing them from falling into the hands of civilian or rival agencies, through extensive observation and surveillance and by acting to intercept such anomalies at the earliest opportunity.

Contain

The Foundation contains anomalies with the goal of preventing their influence or effects from spreading, by either relocating, concealing, or dismantling such anomalies or by suppressing or preventing public dissemination of knowledge thereof.

Protect

The Foundation protects humanity from the effects of such anomalies as well as the anomalies themselves until such time that they are either fully understood or new theories of science can be devised based on their properties and behavior. The Foundation may also neutralize or destroy anomalies as an option of last resort, if they are determined to be too dangerous to be contained.

Welcome to the Foundation.

This will be a Mature game using Unisystem rules. Our primary corebook will be Conspiracy X 2e but any Unisystem corebook (Armageddon, Witchcraft, Terra Primate, All Flesh) is sufficient to play. New or not to Unisystem is unimportant as long as you have access and are willing to learn. This game is based off of the very excellent and incredibly flavorful SCP-wiki.net. No prior knowledge of it is needed.

Note: This game will make extensive use of video, image, and audio media from public sites such as Youtube. If you are not willing to occasional watch or listen to videos of usually no more than ten minutes (and often much less) in length this is not the game for you.  Also that this game is not about going in and blowing things up. The Foundation believes that destruction is an option of last resort.

This will be a two GM game run between GunnerX5 and myself. Each of us will be running separate storylines and groups with occasional crossover assignments. Players may belong to only one or both of the GM's groups. Each will have distinct focuses and different styles. The different groups will be two Mobile Task Forces. GunnerX5 will be running Mobile Task Force Psi-8 and I will be running Mobile Task Force Lambda - 2.

Mobile Task Force Psi-8 ("The Silencers")

Mobile Task Force Psi-8 specializes in the investigation, tracking, containment and/or destruction of individuals suspected to be capable of or having been affected by reanimation anomalies, as well as investigating suspected cases of communication with deceased individuals. This includes the severing of devices intended to allow communication with individuals buried alive, such as bells, pipes, and phones, as well as detainment and interrogation of individuals claiming to have had contact with deceased individuals.

Mobile Task Force Lambda-2 ("The Anti-Virals")

Mobile Task Force Lambda-2 specializes in the investigation, tracking, and containment of anomalous object, creatures, and objects featured in viral media as well as inhibiting, halting, or discrediting the spread of information regarding said anomalies. This includes but is not limited to videos, blogs, imagery, and social networking. Detainment and risk assessment of the uploaders of anomalous evidence is also within the purview of Lambda-2.

So... anyone interested? Any questions?

I'm still  looking over unisystem, but I'm a huge fan of the Foundation, and the concept of Lambda 2 sounds pretty unique! If I can grok the system, I'd be in.

The system is pretty stone simple. Attribute + Skill + d10 and anything over 9 is a success. Easy to work with.

Well two interested players here and at least two confirmed from outside this thread. That's a good sign so far.

I'd definitely be in. SCP is not only one of the most badvlank games, but the wiki stories behind it make the actual history.

Re: Secure. Contain. Protect. (A Unisystem SCP IC)

Will do. This game might just take a little for me to get up and running due to starting physical therapy. It's still on the docket though. One of several things for me.
