IC: Four-color superheroes...

I'm considering running a four-color superheroes game using either Fate Accelerated or Worlds in Peril (an Apocalypse World superheroes game).

The setting / city will be collaboratively designed.

No matter the system, the setup will be:

TONE
This is a superheroes game. Not real people with powers, or covert ops with eye beams. Mild loner tendencies are fine (as long as they don't interfere with play), but non-heroic characters and anti-heroes are right out. This game will feature mostly black and white morality; heroes being heroic and villains being villainous. A sense of humor is strongly advised, but the game is not a comedy.

The game will be lighthearted and action-packed, but also feature character development and drama. This won't be a soap opera, but neither will it be an endless brawl. Some good inspirational cartoons to check out are: Teen Titans, Justice League, Spectacular Spider-Man, Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes, and Batman: The Brave and the Bold.

I want players who are fully on board with the superhero play style. Making heroic choices over mechanical or tactical choices is a staple of this kind of game.

Any interest? And which system of the two draws more interest?

Re: IC: Four-color superheroes...

I could definitely be interested in this. I'm familiar with FATE, but not the WiP version of Apocalypse world. I've liked most of the AW hacks I've read, though, so I could probably be easily persuaded to give it a try.

Re: IC: Four-color superheroes...

I would be in for WIP. If it matters, I would like a setting closer to JL/Avengers over Teen Titans, I could do with a change up from a young supers game. But interested regardless.

Interest.  Either system would be fine.

Re: IC: Four-color superheroes...

If this ends up going with FATE, this would be pretty much in my wheelhouse. I like the source material, and especially the idea of not slogging through some sort of gritty teeth-clenched. I don't know Apocolypse World or Worlds In Peril, so while I would be interested, I would be going in completely green.

I'll throw my hat in the proverbial ring on this one.

I like heroic heroes and new systems.  If things end up going with with Worlds in Peril I'll throw my hat in as well.

Re: IC: Four-color superheroes...

I don't think the group being green is too much of a hurdle as long as we're all willing to put in the effort.

That said, there's clear interest so I'll start working something up for a Worlds in Peril game.

Hopefully all of you will be willing to give it a shot.
