[M&M 2nd ed] Freedomverse game?

Are there any people out there interested in playing in a game set in the core setting of the Mutants and Masterminds game?

One of two options

1- pl 8 group of Claremont Academy students, following them through their time at the school, graduation and becoming full fledged heroes

2- new team on the block, pl 10

Of course there will be interest in this! Especially with a good GM at the helm.

Okay, so now the true question.

Run both? Hard cap on player count if so?

I'd start with one. If you get a good response, active posting, you feel yourself energised enough... start a second.

Hard cap though. Doesn't have to be a small hard cap like 4; but the moment you start going "Well I was going to stay with 6, but there were too many awesome concepts..."

You run into problems, in my experience.

Re: [M&M 2nd ed] Freedomverse game?

I would interested in either. Starting with one to test the waters, concentrate on one story to really flesh it out. A player cap of 6-8 would probably work pretty well.

I'd be interested in the PL10 game.

Re: [M&M 2nd ed] Freedomverse game?

I would like to play in a PL10 game, a new team of at least a few small two/three man teams that get together to stop the evildoers plan.

I don't follow, is this one group or several?

Re: [M&M 2nd ed] Freedomverse game?

Perhaps Gray-Exile43 is suggesting something like the Justice League animated series were a larger super-team gets broken up into mission-based sub-teams consisting of 2-3 superheroes, with each sub-team assigned separate unrelated missions appropriate to their characters, but come together to fight as one larger team versus more powerful/larger threats? It would be like the GM is running 2 or 3 games together, but occasionally combining them into a single game when a bigger threat presents itself.

Could be three times as much work for the GM as running a single small- to medium-sized team though. Bigger and more complicated also means more prone to failure though.

In reply to Elfy (msg # 12):

I'd need sturdy and studious co GMs for that.

Re: [M&M 2nd ed] Freedomverse game?

I like the slow build up that takes place going thru the school, if done right it gives you time to see what your char can do and how you fit into a group.

So i might want to go thru Claremont training school

Re: [M&M 2nd ed] Freedomverse game?

So, assuming both groups are a go, is that good for everyone, or should I subdivide more groups, vary more PL?

Re: [M&M 2nd ed] Freedomverse game?

Depends how much work you want, and can, put in. The more different groups, the more work, though potentially the bigger pay-off.

Re: [M&M 2nd ed] Freedomverse game?

I'd recommend just starting off with one group and seeing how it goes honestly. Either group sounds interesting though.

I'll do one group, but I've got an interested assistant GM, so he might handle another with my guidance.

Okay yeah, if you have an assistant GM everything's different.

Re: [M&M 2nd ed] Freedomverse game?

So not much of any interest in assistant GMs

So it's going to be the two basic groups first.
