So, I've been reading the Saxon Stories (Bernard Cornwell's epic series of novels dealing with the birth of England - Alfred the great, Danes (vikings), warriors wandering what may become Angleland. It's got epic conflict (Saxon vs Dane, Christianity vs the Norse Gods, progress vs chaos) and also plenty of adventuring hooks.

I also want to run a no-magic d20 (ie pathfinder / DnD basic structure) campaign. Iron Heroes seems like the best system for this rather than trying to kludge something together.

So, putting the two together, I think it would be fun to run an Iron Heroes campaign based loosely on the plotline of the Saxon Stories (don't worry if you haven't read them - I said loosely).

Anyone interested? Or just feel like offering comments / advice?

Are you set on using d20? The Pendragon game is perfect for what you want to run.

But, in general, I'm interested in such a game. But I've never read those novels and will have to correct that oversight.

Well, I'm not totally set on it but I've never played Pendragon before so I'd be hesitant to try a new system as a GM first.

You don't have to have read the novels to play, although they are good, I'm not going to attempt to follow them to the letter (or even the chapter).
