IC Judge Dredd

I recently looked around the forums and found no Judge Dredd games at all. Is there interest in this?

Re: IC Judge Dredd

What are you thinking? Free form? System?

And more importantly rating (i assume adult?) and which incarnation. Are we talking Stallone style or more in line with the Dredd movie vis a vis Karl Urban? Or the comics?

I'd be interested in something in the vein/feel of the recent movie. That'd be neat.

Re: IC Judge Dredd

Shadowrun lends itself well to an urban sprawl sort of setup, though magic stuff would have to get nixed.

Traveler might be a bit too far-future...

One of the generic systems like Gurps or Fate might be a good idea. Focus on the roleplay rather than mechanical depth.

Either way, you have my ear.

Re: IC Judge Dredd

Going by the comics, it pretty much has everything. Splatterpunk with a good dash of evil cultists worshiping Latte demons. I have a Judge Dredd RPG book done by Mongoose Publishing, but I think there are quite a few other ones floating around.

Re: IC Judge Dredd

Mongoose put out a judge dredd system based on traveller. I have wanted to run this for some time but never found any interest. Glad to see some people at least like the good judge around here.

If you run a game using that system I would sign up for it. I've been wanting to buy their pre-painted minis for my IRL cyberpunk game for a while now, they're awesome looking.

Re: IC Judge Dredd

I was brought up on Judge Dredd as a kid and still love it today.

I got the original Games Workshop rpg many many years ago (yes I'm that old) and loved it, then I picked up the mongoose D20 and hated it, but then I got the Mongoose traveller set and liked that one too as I've played quite a lot of traveller in the past.

Judge Dredd has influenced so many RPGs but has never seemed to have had the love it deserves in its own right as a great setting to play in

Re: IC Judge Dredd

Depending on how work goes, I might be able to put together a d20 Judge Dredd game in Late December or mid January. Is there interest?

Re: IC Judge Dredd

Is the group a part of the Wally Squad?  That would be entertaining.

Submitting interest in a Dec/Jan D20 game, as I also have the Mongoose edition of the rules. Shoot me an rMail if this launches!
