IC: A game of riddles and brainteasers

I've often thought about posting a thread on Community Chat that had riddles and brainteasers for people to solve. Unfortunately in that format people are more expected to print the answer without spoilers. When you start making it a guessing game, I guess it becomes a game.

So I'd like to have as many players as would be interested, which admittedly might be only a few. I just want to know if there would even be five others besides myself to post and answer such questions and puzzles.

I personally love riddles. Number brainteasers and "How you get an elephant in refrigerator" are not my type of puzzles, but I'm all for letting them be posted on the board.

Visual puzzles can be fun but would need to be very simple text or very seldom so as not to become data drag on RPOL.

I really would like at least five other participants, and beyond that I can start assigning Co-GMs if somehow it gains popularity. Really all I'd do is make sure ToA are respected, new players are admitted and disruptive participants are removed. The game would not require me to be in any more place of authority than that.

This would be a casual game at best. If people wanted to become competitive, great! I'm not looking for that initially though, just something to do when I have lulls in posting on my games so I can resist the urge to create a new game (which I've been pretty good about not doing) that will be left at the wayside in two weeks.

So would anyone be interested?

I'd love to play, though I'm not sure I'd have many riddles to submit (just a few from games and books), but I'd love solving them.

Re: IC: A game of riddles and brainteasers

This seems like a fun thing to pop in on daily and just see if a hard puzzle is stumping people. My bet though is that people will likely google the answers too often and ruin the fun for people who want to really think about it. Make the responses PMed or private only so everyone has a chance to answer, then the people who google the answers are just wasting their own time and the rest of the people can have fun.

Beyond that one grievance with the idea (and simple solution to resolve it), it's a great idea.

I've got a couple of Story/riddles that a friend shared with me years back. I love putting them out there.
