GURPS Powers game: Heroes and Villains

Anyone interested?

I have every intention of letting your character die - if you've played well with others, I have no problem with you building a new character and taking revenge, as long as you keep it IC.
I am happy to have you playing a hero or a villain, but I need to make this clear: If you are a villain, it needs to be for a reason.   Psychopaths need not apply.

Build a 175 point character, with up to -50 in disadvantages.  This is a mundane but extraordinary human being.  Therefore:

  •   limit all stats to 13 (15 for ST)
  •   do not give them any exotic or cinematic advantages
  •   write at least one paragraph about how they are who they are.  Anything not mentioned in your text will be downplayed (e.g., sure, you can have the computer operation skill, but if you don't mention computers at all, you cannot have computer hacking).  Some of you will feel the urge to write more than one paragraph - let me reiterate, I have every intention of letting your character die.  Don't get attached.
  •   give them a job, family, etc.  These are potential motivators.  If they don't HAVE a job, consider taking Dead Broke.  If they don't have a family, give them a guilt complex, or an enemy, etc... (and potentially being a villain)

Create a power concept.  This should:
  •   Select a power source: lab accident, spontaneous mutation, sudden blow to the head, etc
  •   Sum up the concept in 10 words or less.  E.g., anthropomorphic spider powers (if you were playing a Spider-man clone)
  •   Select up to eight powers - open to veto - that make sense according to your power concept.  E.g., increased DX, increased ST, Perfect Balance, Super-Jump, Binding etc for spider-man.
  •   Invest 310 points in powers, and power related skills.  Put another 15 points into skills your character has focused on since learning of their powers (I realize this is unrealistic, but it's a supers game, so roll with it)
  •   Be okay with not having enough points.  True to the Super genre, power expansion will happen rapidly.  Depending on play rate, I plan on giving out up to 10 CP every week.  In-game, this means you are literally becoming more powerful by the second.

Note: the events of this game take place in a fictional city, and a fictional world.  I'm not willing to take the level of effort required to keep things accurate.  I'm also unwilling to go to a lot of effort to explain people having powers.  I feel like my laziness in these regards may speed things up a little.

In reply to faxus (msg # 1):

Could you tell us a little bit more about the game itself? Sandbox or scripted? Emphasis on combat or storytelling? PvP or PvE? Tone: 4-colour or realistic? ...
