DnD 4e game with Far Realm incursion
I'll preface this by saying I likely wouldn't start the game for a few more weeks, life isn't very rpol-compatible right now.
As the title suggested, my game idea is one that's overarching story involves gateways to the Far Realms bursting open. The thoughts on the game itself will start very vanilla - rescuing a princess from a band of goblins that captured her coach. However the rescue won't be quite as straight forward as the characters expect.
I'm planning on having the incursion trickle for a while, then launch properly (conveniently) around Paragon tier, corrupting whole cities or forests, with Epic tier trying to close the gates.
For setting, I figured Points of Light (4e standard setting) should do and start characters at level 3 so you're still low but you still have a few tricks up your sleeve. The game would start in a small kingdom, possibly coastal, and I would like the game to at least be based there for a while. I'd be fine with a mix of local and traveling adventurers, and wouldn't turn down any races or classes (though a Pixie Vampire would be heavily persuaded to apply with something else).
Any thoughts, interest, questions, ideas?
