CaesarCV:
Seems quite interesting! Mind if I ask a few questions on the specifics of this opportunity?
Yes, absolutely, any that you have. Either here, or use rmail, if you prefer that.
Danger Man -- oh, I've played M&M in fact, and still have those rules! And they're pretty cool, I think. But, I really want to steer clear of rigidly defined character classes, leveling-up, and all that. As well, I want magic working to not be so uniform. I want to avoid sets of common, well known spells or items that anybody can predict. Most magic will be considered dark in this setting, and most people will stay away from it. Which doesn't mean
characters have to -- any number of magic working types might be played, here. However, a
non magic using character can be just as successful, or even more so, which is the "magic" of free form (or mostly so). You won't see that too often under a D&D sort of system.
Okay, I didn't expect to get this many replies! And, I dislike turning this sort of thing into a competition. Potentially, given that everyone is a good fit, I could
possibly accommodate four players.
But: If you were
really looking forward to being the sole player, please don't let this chase you away! Let's see who's left after we do the following:
If you are serious about this, I want to see some sort of writing/post sample. I don't care about the genre, character type or the setting. Or whether it's old, or newly written. Or whether you give me a URL, or paste the text into an rmail. Any of that is fine. I just want to see something that will give me an idea of what I can expect from you.
Please don't be overly worried about grammar -- yes, strong writing is a plus. But, I'll consider the total package. I've written with people for whom English was a second language, but who were super awesome to work with regardless, because their ideas and characterization were so strong.
And
no, this doesn't mean the door is closed on any questions. You can get those answered first,
then submit your post sample, if you're still interested.
