In the past I got the play the original Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles. While I never actually beat it it holds a very special place in my childhood. Specifically I seem to remember one detail about the game very clearly. The miasma. I always wanted to make a game where that mechanic was introduced. For those uninitiated the basic premise of the mechanic was that a horrible magical aura Unleashed upon the world would kill anybody caught inside of it. However large crystals could be used to push the miasma back but they were on a a timer and after a year they would lose their power. The only way to restore the power was to travel across the land, typically in Caravans, and collect a special kind of essence that rejuvenated the crystals powers.

Tldr: I want to start a game where the main goal is to travel across the world and collect the liquid Mcguffin to keep your village safe from danger gas.

I'm just here to probe the see what kind of interest there would be in a game like this. For the system I'm considering dungeon world, modified of course to include all of your favorite final fantasy monsters and possibly races.

I'm always down for Dungeon World, and have some ideas specifically for Final Fantasy.

I must admit I'd be pretty interested in this, Crystal Chronicles was a big game for me when I was younger ha ha.
