Who wants... to live... forever?
Countless sunrises. Endless footsteps. Infinite heartbeats - for some of you. The life of an immortal is long, lonesome, and often pointless - unless you have boon companions to share it with.
The Long Road of History is a guided freeform game about immortality, friendship, rivalries, and exploring the undying mindset in a world carved from the bones of popular fiction. The players are themselves immortals of different kinds, walking through the ages together, bumping up against scenarios and characters from film, television, comics, anime, cartoons, and literature.
In one sense, it's a game of fannish adventure through history. In another, it's an exploration of the immortal psychology, what it's *like* to live forever, to watch the humans around you inevitably succumb to old age and die, to try and retain some sense of meaning and mattering among depersonalization and dissociation.
Major represented fandoms include Doctor Who, Supernatural, BTvS, Star Trek, Star Wars, Marvel Comics, DC, Highlander, and Lovecraft. That's barely scratching the surface.
The game begins in 18,000 BC, during the last days of Atlantis, and will progress through the ages via generous time-skips.
