Imagine the Exalted, the Endless, or the royal family of Amber getting caught up in the politics and intrigue of a world that looks like The Princess Bride mixed with the Three Musketeers.  You are one of those supernaturally powerful people, dealing with the plots of your equally powerful kin, and every power-hungry mundane who thinks they can benefit from your unique abilities.

This game uses the Fate Accelerated rules with one significant twist - tarot cards play a central role in character and setting creation.  Your High Aspect and Trouble are replaced by a tarot card of your choosing, and you get supernatural abilities related to that card.  And the various city states that make up the setting are randomly generated by drawing tarot cards which tell us about the major players there and the overall flavor of the city.

Question: will each Arcane have a predetermined list of specific Arcana abilities (subject to expansion/improvement over time) or is it more of a freeform, "If it fits the themes of your Arcana you can try it" sort of thing? And if the latter, how much room will there be to creatively interpret an Arcana's purview?

Definitely more freeform.  How flexible that will be I don't know; this is my first time running this game, so I don't know how much is too much, but at the outset I will err on the side of more player freedom.

You say use fate core but also to select approaches, are you using Fate Core Skills or Fate Accelerated Approaches?

It's Accelerated, not Core.

In other news, the game is now full.  Lurkers are welcome but I'm not taking any more players until I post here to say otherwise.

Turns out we've already lost a couple of people in character creation, so the game is open again for new applicants.  This is (presumably) your last chance to get in at the very start.

We've reached what feels like the end of a "chapter," and it would be great to have one or two new players join in now.  The story so far is that the PCs are joining in the resistance movement against a tyrannical theocracy, and are now on the run while they figure out their next move.
