[FATE Core] The Mother Tree's Crown - Action and Exploration

The Kingdom of Theodora rests beneath the boughs of the ancient, massive Mother Tree: Sil Lauma. Its branches span the length of the entire kingdom and it is regarded as the source of all life. It is curiously hollow inside, home to a teeming ecosystem rife with fantastic flora and fauna. It is also extremely dangerous, and exploration past the lowest levels has been banned for generations.

Until now, that is.

The King has recently fallen very ill with an odd disease that no medicine man or healer can seem to identify. In desperation, the Queen turned to ancient texts and research. She found references to a magical artifact known as the Scyph yr Ilastrum, a goblet said to be able to turn any liquid within it into a drink that cures all disease. This artifact, along with dozens of other similarly powerful objects, is said to reside in a golden castle called the the Crown of Sil Lauma. This castle is supposedly built high up among the branches of the tree.

Maybe it's real, maybe it's not. Regardless, the Queen is desperate to cure her husband, and has issued a decree across the entire kingdom: anyone that finds and brings the Scyph yr Ilastrum back to her will have the eternal gratitude of the royal family and be awarded a prize fit for any monarch, both monetarily and otherwise.

Exploring alone is tantamount to suicide, so you all have banded together to try and find the Scyph yr Ilastrum. But the race is on: you are not the only group looking to reach the top of Sil Lauma. Let's hope that you will be the first.

The Mother Tree's Crown is a FATE Core game with a focus on action and exploration, though it does leave room for social encounters. It's also a very collaborative experience, and there's plenty of room for players to contribute to the world and to help each other with their aspects and stunts. If you're having trouble coming up with a good stunt, or need to refine the wording of your Trouble, everyone is here to help.

The expected posting rate is once every other day.

This is the first game I'm GMing using the FATE system, so I may be a bit shaky at the start. That said, I always welcome feedback on how I'm doing.

I'm still looking for 2-3 more players.
