New Students Wanted: Attend the Academy
The Academy is a generic name to represent the overall concept of this game. The intent is that each player will be able to develop their character at their own pace. The premise is that each character must learn their chosen class. Fighters must learn to fight, i.e. handle a weapon, hand-to-hand combat, etc. Clerics must learn the basics of their faith, weapon handling, healing, etc. Magic-users need to understand the elements of the chosen path of magic. Thieves aren't represented at the Academy because they are not seen as a 'legal' profession, so they are 'trained' by the local Thieves Guild.
As the characters choose their 'faction' they will begin to compete against each other. An apprentice thief may be called upon to choose the spell book of a rival faction's magic-user. A Cleric my be sent to convert members of another faction to his faction. The possibilities are endless and these are only examples of where the game play could develop.
Players will develop a basic background for their character prior to submitting their Request to Join. Once the background has been developed then they will receive a total of 90 points to distribute amongst their 6 basic attributes with some restrictions.
Each character, based on class, will be given a starting set of equipment. Additional equipment will be obtained by completing 'training' missions. Characters will also be given a 'stipend' that they can use as they desire. This will vary based on their class and experience (seen more as value to their faction).
