Epic D&D 3.5 mini-missions (very short term stories)

Please see the last post for current openings!
This is a very short run of an epic level concept. The heroes have been chosen by the Lady of Pain to become gods, or be left to ruin by the Arch Fiends. Each of the seven heroes (or antiheroes) will first find themselves plummeting into Baator from a gate in sigil. Entry is not voluntary, exit is not necessary.

A skyship of damned souls sails across the fiery sky of hell, as the heroes descend. All manner of baatezu now appear to address the threat upon them.

This game is meant for quick leveling. We'll be having very difficult combats that will have a mix of insignificant foes, moderate threats and extreme threats. The latter most will require creativity and some bending of the rules to encourage flavorful descriptions. GM fiat will be used in favor of the players, so a critical hit may tear off a foe's arm, preventing anything the creature could do with it. A flashy spell well described may have an addition mod to the DC. To overcome the extreme threat[s, creativity, daring and tactics will be required. If the team can muster all that, they'll have a good chance of suceeding.

Quick play means you'll level after a major combat, two if the encounter calls for an intermediary scene, though total elimination of PCs is certainly possible. Those that quit will have their character killed by Nerull. Those that disappear will zone out for a RL month, and then start to fade into nothingness as RL time progresses.

Those that make it past the EL 40 will get demi-godhood. At that point, I'll reevaluate the game and decide if we narrate a conclusion or continue with the remaining PCs as demi-gods. I'll be happy if we just get through a few levels, TBH, but I'm aiming for a god being born.

Look at the Game Information and character creation thread. This is a very rough cut game meant to be quick and not rigid. I may slipped up on some vital details in my eager haste. If so, feel free to inquire.

I look forward to seeing you there!

Play a dragon, fiend, or other great evil! (Simple Char Gen)

This is an epic game where heroes of the realms are trying to fight the evils of the planes to achieve godhood. It is likely some will succeed, but doubtfully all. You are the bad guy!

You will be playing a chromatic dragon, a fiend (even archfiend!), or some other great evil. The odds are against you, but you will receive a version of experience even when your character is killed, to choose a replacement.

The idea is for quick play, so you won't be messing with too much in terms of character creation. For dragons I'll allow you to pick your own spells and feats. For other characters, such as archfiends, most of the character will be built for you.

It will have a legacy aspect to it. So rather than your part ending with your character dying (which is likely) you'll gain legacy points which will replace experience points. This will be used for all purposes except casting XP component spells. When you receive enough legacy points you'll be allowed to choose an ally, heir, or liege to either play in addition to your main character or after your first character dies.

The theme of the game is world building, fortress management, and base defense. Depending on what you play you'll have a fortress (of your own design), or lair, and minions, or devotees. You'll mostly roleplay among the others in your faction, and defend against sieges from the heroes and rival factions.

There will be four main factions: Tanar'ri, Baatezu, Dragonlords, Deathlords.

Players will each have access to both general and exclusive characters. General characters are generic fiends or undead. Exclusive characters are archfiends, and specific dragons. Exclusive characters are one of a kind, once they die they're dead.

This segment is preserved for the event I reopen this plot-line. For now it is closed.
