A gritty, realistic zombie apocalypse setting - Last Light
It’s Wednesday, June 24, 2015 and the time is 8:32 PM.
The last rays of sunlight have retreated beyond Raleigh’s beautiful skyline, allowing darkness to envelope the city.
The roughly half a million residents of Raleigh, North Carolina, continue on about their lives, unaware of the menace lurking the streets this night. Sporadic radio chatter along police channels hints at the growing unrest beginning to grapple with the city. Emergency service hotlines begin to back up from an inordinate amount of service calls. Hospital emergency rooms begin to suffer from overcrowded conditions caused by the influx of victims, many reporting bite wounds as the reason for their admittance. Reports of riots hit the news waves, their cause unknown at the current time. The Mayor’s dinner is interrupted with all of the commotion, she returns to her office, looking for answers. Answers that no one seems to have.
The situation in Raleigh is dire but most remain unaware of the commotion. Are you one of the uninformed masses, soon to discover the terror of a society ravaged by an unknown assailant? Or will you elect to be an individual of standing, watching as the city consumes itself, unable to change its tragic course? Perhaps, you find yourself a visitor caught up in the events afflicting the city...whatever the case may be...
Welcome to Last Light.
Last Light is an interactive story intending to detail the end of contemporary civilization following a zombie apocalypse and the struggle of the survivors. The environment is threatening and player characters are expected to be reflections of everyday common people. DEATH is an inevitable conclusion in this environment. By submitting an RTJ and joining Last Light, you consent to your character suffering real consequences in furtherance of the story. This means, lasting harm and potential death. Glen from the Walking Dead does not exist in Last Light.
With that said, I WILL NOT go out of my way to kill characters, but should the circumstances merit such an event, anything is possible. As a storyteller, I believe every scene, relationship, action sequence, and/or moment between your PC and the world of Last Light should further the story and/or create an emotion to enhance the setting.
