Ressurected Orignal Superhero game needs players!
They had always been there, we just didn't know. Parahumans, normal people gifted with incredible abilities. When they emerged three years ago most people thought that Paras were a new phenomenon that they were just now coming about for the first time, they were wrong.
Paras come and go in cycles, there is a period where large amounts of Paras suddenly awaken, then the growth becomes more steady until it dies down, and new Paras stop showing up, and the ones still alive go into hiding. They populate our myths and legends, but they were also involved more recently. During WW2 the government employed a top secret team of Parahumans to combat the Nazi's Occult Science division, but their existence was kept from the general public.
Nowadays parahumans are in the public eye, heroes exploits are followed closely by the media and the public, there are Para rights activists, and there are even a few para celebrities, like Iris Kerrrington a.k.a. Rainbow girl, the pop star who can make her own light shows.
The government has not remained idle during this period of transition, creating the DPA as sort of a Parahuman focused FBI. Forming Strike Team Alpha, a group of millitary parahumans to counter parahuman combatants. And passing laws on Parahuman rights and revising old ones to deal with powers.
The most common origin for Parahumans is innate abilities activated by a near death experience, or emotioanal duress, but they can also come from mystical sources, science gone awry, or other comic book origins.
Hey there. This is an original universe of my own creation, where people with superhuman abilities as well as mystic forces, come and go in cycles. The last cycle, unbeknownst to to the public, started shortly before ww2 and ended in the late sixties. The game started at the beginning of a new cycle but died off due to real life issues a while ago. We're starting it again skipping two years into the future to give the world a small time to adapt.
