The Gift of Power (A Competitive Superhero Tale) - Season 2!
The year is 2036. And for the past 13 years, the course of history has been driven by the emergence of "The Gifted." These seemingly random people from around the world awaken one day from impossibly vivid dreams to find themselves granted strange and powerful abilities. Many of them use these abilities for selfish reasons; already, much of the world has fallen to a "Wave" of super-criminals funded by a mysterious firebrand known as "Namidias." But others use them to benefit humankind. In fact, a UN-sanctioned task force known as the ITSDA has risen, provided Gifted heroes with intensive training and individualized equipment, and managed to match the Namidian Wave blow-for-blow across the world.
That is, until recently. Failure after failure has rocked the ITSDA to its core and shaken the world's faith in them. They've been framed for assassinating the President of Brazil, dragged into devastating brawls that decimated New York and Chicago, and lost many of their best soldiers - all in the last few months.
Can the ITSDA and its rogue allies turn the tide against the Wave? Or will those Gifted with power finally overtake the rest of humanity? In truth, only you can answer that question.
So what will you do with The Gift of Power? Answer carefully, for the future of an entire species rests upon your answer.

Our little game, entitled "The Gift of Power," has recently passed its first anniversary. What's more, we're in the process of resolving its biggest and most critical battle yet. As such, I felt that it was time to launch a "Season 2 -" we want new heroes, new villains, new characters, new powers, new stories, and (perhaps most importantly) new writers.
But what's unique about this game, you may ask? Most critically, it is, as I said above, a "competitive" superhero tale. When two (or more) players' characters come in to conflict, both players write a "Non-Canon" version of the battle. Once that's done, a GM (or assistant if the GM's characters are involved in the battle) selects the winner based upon the strength, excitement, and impact of the player's respective posts. The GM then writes a Canon Post based upon the winning player's piece and the story continues. This "Competitive Writing System" has proven to make each battle matter and push players to continually up the ante!
In the year we've played our game, over 20 characters with a remarkable variety of powers have clashed and radically reshaped their world. Will your creation be one of them? And if so, how will their Gifts change our shared universe? If you'd like to find out, click that button and enter the fray. We'd be more than happy to add one more to our number!
