The Legend of Zelda: The First Sages:

Legends tell of a land in the skies where the first hero and the first princess came from. They descended to the surface where they ended Demise, but took on his curse, and from there established the kingdom of Hyrule. This is where the history books close, but there is one last story of the Sky Child and the great goddess Hylia. Is this game based off the Legend of Zelda video games? If so, I don't think I can join, for I have never played those and have only just recently even heard of them.

Yes I is, but only off one game. A quick Google search for the plot and characters would be all you need if you want to create an original character, as they might not have heard of any plot in the story even.
