There was a time when people with super human powers and abilities were merely the stuff of fiction and the creative and vivid imagination. However, as history has proven time and time again, the stuff of imagination often comes to be in that which we call reality.  This is the case in our world, in our time, through various events and a few decades of advancement, we now have those people who many of the general populace fear and revile.

Men, women, and children with abilities only ever seen between the covers of a graphic novel, the celluloid of a film strip, or the printed page are now known to exist.  Hidden from the judgemental eyes of society and the government, no one knows for sure when the first mutant was born.  By the same token, hidden from the eyes of anyone without the highest of military and government clearance, no one knows when the first genetically altered being was created.

All we know for certain is that one day, it became very clear that there were people that were not 'normal'.  This fascinated some, repulsed others, frightened most.  While some tried to suppress the spread of the birth defects by instituting registration, round up and segregation those who were considered dangerous, and otherwise control these threats to society, others embraced it and worked to prove that these were merely people, who needed a bit more care to teach them how to control their abilities and be useful and productive members of the citizenry.

A tenuous truce was reached, a school built to educate and train those with abilities.  Yet all the while dark forces worked to undermine all and in the end, the truce, the school, was destroyed. The fragile balance lost and now all those who are different, gifted, mutated, altered, what ever the case, are hunted down and captured. If caught by the government, they are sent to detention camps where they are kept under strict control, often drugged to keep them calm or trained for use.

Believe it or not, that is not the worst of places to be.  There is a force out in the world who feels they are superior and should rule, they capture, brainwash and use in order to work towards world domination.  One group, saved by some cosmic quirk of fate, science and magic, has the ability to try and make things right.  It will not be easy, it will not be over night, and it will certainly not be without sacrifice and loss, still, they know what needs to be done and strive to save all they can and bring them to the safe haven they have found.

Will you be one of them?  Will you fight the good fight?  Help those of your kind as well as those of any walk of life who cannot help themselves?  These are dangerous and volatile times, a world poised on the edge of ruin, where faith and common sense are becoming a rarity, replaced by distrust, fear and anger.
