The Bishopsgate Asylum has stood for barely a century, but the hospital’s grounds carry a history of madness and violence that predate its building. Terrible things have happened on this land, and they’ve been happening for longer than anyone alive today can know. The only building situated on an island in Harmony Lake, the asylum is home to hundreds of patients.

Even those natives who live near the Lake know there is more to this Harmony Lake than nice fishing. It's shores are home to the living, and dead. Odd things have been occurring there for as long as people can remember.

Welcome to Chronicles of Darkness Mortals: The Asylum. A game using the Core Book of Chronicles of Darkness/NWOD 2nd Edition. Prospective patients should read the application thread in its entirety before applying. This is a Mature rated game.

All manner of patients are welcome: from those who have been falsely admitted to the criminally insane. Our dedicated staff of medical professionals is committed to the best care possible in this Asylum and is currently experimenting on a range of therapies, treatments, medications, moral inquiries and procedures that will help mitigate lunacy found in some segments of the population.

Due to an administrative error at the hospital, we lost access to some of the patient application records. Please send us the latest character in need of mental health therapy.

We have a heathy cast of insane patients receiving horrific care at the asylum right now, but could use a few more interesting and active characters to round out the group. 700 posts and counting!

So to play this, we would need the New World of Darkness core rulebook, and the World of Darkness: Asylum book?

Just checking. I have experience in WoD 2nd Edition, but have not played NWOD yet.I can check out the books, and if it looks like fun, I'll certainly be interested in playing.

You just need to have the NWOD book. There is a slight difference in Chronicles of Darkness. Understanding the Asylum book isn't necessary. Apply if interested!

Some PCs are getting electro shock therapy right now to help 'calm' them down. We've already had one murder in the Women's Ward. A few of our PC patients are actively trying to escape!
