Ork Infestation on Ganf Magna! Guardsmen are needed.

Ruination is a game in which the players take on the role of Imperial Guardsmen of the 72nd Magna Guard, once a local planetary defense force which has now been officially sanctioned as a de facto Guard Regiment. The planet of Ganf Magna is a massive desert filled with heretics, traitors, bounty hunters and scum of all types. The PDF were considered misfits at their best, though now that the Departmento Munitorum has set up shop planetside the Commissariat is intent on reforming the PDF into a proper fighting force.

The planet is also home to a foul xenos infestation. Feral Orks, somehow spawned without the presence of an Ork force in the system, reside within the badlands of Ganf Magna in great numbers. Heavy losses have been suffered by the PDF as they attempted to eradicate the xenos, though the Departmento Munitorum is certain that with new leadership and heavy armor the Magna Guard will be able to annihilate every Ork in the system.

Unfortunately, as Waaagh! Grimtoof draws ever closer the Feral Orks become more ferocious. Will you be able to remove the Greenskin threat from Granf Magna before it is too late?

Ideally, this game could use two more Guardsmen. Make sure to consult all of the background threads, especially the character creation/regimental rules thread. There are quite a few specialties that are not allowed, since this game is focused more on regular Guardsmen (and mutants) and not the more attachments to Guard units. If you are interested in filling one of those positions, let me know through a PM in the game. I look forward to hearing from you and attempting to convert you all to the greater good.

The Imperium Needs You!

Come join me, Garth "Killa" Kage and 72nd Magna Guard in combating the Feral Orks infestation.

We got a solid foundation for our squad at the moment, comprised of:

Vorgen - Sargent
Leonard - Medic
Trax - Ogryn (melee oriented)
Silver - Weapons Specialist
Lydia - Heavy gunner w/ heavy snubber
Gareth - Heavy gunner w/ mortar and grenade launchers

We could use any career to bolster our ranks, but some more weapon specialists, ogryn, or even a ratling sniper could be useful.

There's a lot of cool options out there.  Weapon Specialists can equally be good at both close combat and ranged combat, so they usually make for pretty versatile character types.

Hmm, you don't have a cogboy on the list. Though their usefulness depends on the campaign style, doesn't it.

I could try weapon specialist or enginseer if you still need any.
Abhumans are a bit too tempting to loonie up now and then.

Flamer falls under weapon specialist, and while not CC, it's "not being overrun" role. And shushgun, but depending on the armoury selection available, usefulness may vary greatly.

Sadly the game died because the GM got sick.  Only war is great though.
