Minimal System Alpha Test

NOTE: Game started, but only a few posts thus far.  If possible, still want one more player.

==Setting==
After SETI discovers, and eventually decodes, an extra-terrestrial signal technology advances by leaps and bounds in order to seek out this other intelligent life in space, and send signals back.  60 years later, the HOPE (Human Off-World Expedition) mission is launched into space.  A ship on auto-pilot for however long it takes, and its crew of 300,000 people of all skills and roles in advanced cryogenic sleep in hopes that they'll be able to saely awake at the other end of the journey and establish contact.  You were part of the crew of Hope Module Eleven.  When you finally were awoken, nothing was at all like you expected.

The game will take place on an alien planet an unknown distance from Earth, and an unknown amount of time after departure.  The world arrived on will be foreign, advanced beyond your understanding, and very often unfriendly.  It will be up to you to figure out how you make a place for yourself on the new world, or if you can't, then how you'll get off of it.

==System==
The system will be a minimalistic, and as-yet unnamed, system that needs alpha-testing of some core mechanics. Minimalistic meaning that the entire set of mechanics fits on a single screen, and the only numeric value on a new character sheet is HP.  The system is definitely still rules-based, not freeform, simply designed to be simpler and more flexible by reducing the core mechanics to a minimum.  Rolls are 2d10 + modifiers vs 10, with special results when either die displays a 1 or 10.  Other details can be found in the System Core page of the game itself, as well as the System Module: Charge Mechanics page.

==Posting Rules==
I'm also going to be testing post-rate enforcement using a scheme I think is rather different from most games:  The game will have a fairly lengthy minimum rate, but will also have a MAXIMUM allowed posting rate.  Exceeding the maximum allowed posting rate will earn the player two warnings, followed by a simple removal from the game.  I'm hoping that combining both minimum and maximum rates will lead to a more stable posting rate.  Further details can be found in the Posting Rules page of the game itself.

==RTJ==
The RTJ for this game will be very simple:
  • Character name
  • Character sheet as outlined at the start off the System Core page
  • What you want from this game
  • Any other information you feel is worth adding

Then, to verify you've read the required reading for the game, answer the following very simple questions:
  • Tell me the minimum post rate for the game, as detailed on the Posting Rules page.
  • Tell me the maximum posting rate, as detailed on the Posting Rules page.
  • State that you believe you will be able to follow the above rates.
  • State that you have read the setting info.
