Mad Max? Fallout? Walking dead? ... Lost Highways!

For a new to set up, freeform game and to playtest a roleplay variant of my tabletop rules, I am looking for players willing and eager to explore the post apocalyptic world of Lost Highways.

What is Lost Highways?
In essence, originally, lost Highways is a tabletop miniatures game of automotive gang warfare, which we are now expanding to the RPG world.
Think Mad Max, meets Deathrace 2000, meets Carmageddon, meets Fallout, meets Walking dead...

***

The world has come to an end. In 2021 massive solar flares have fried most if not all electronics on earth. As the average world temperature rose, climate wreaked havoc on the planet and soon humanity was fighting for its very survival. Millions upon millions died as the earth slowly turned more and more into desolate wastelands. New, uncureable diseases killed millions more, bringing those who died back in a state of unlife not unlike the fabled zombie infliction. Soon tho, that image seemed to be highly romanticised, as they freshly walking dead turned out anything but slow, or mindless.

Now most of humanity tries to survive in small habitated fortresses, rebuilding a semblance of civilisation, or carving a niche for themselves. Others try to stay mobile using whatever they can find, for eventually the roaming undead will find everyone... Looking for new additions to their ranks.

***

What I am looking for is players that are willing to explore this world. Players that are interested in make most roleplay rules up as we go, using a skill system that is based upon the old d20. Average skills will start at 7-13, and will grow with experience.A player should start with a set of about 20 skills, utilising whatever they think would be appropriate for a post apocalyptic setting.
Want a firearm skill? Sure thing, roll a d6, add 6, and call it a firearm skill. Want computer skills? Do the same...  (though you might be hard-pressed finding an actual computer)...

The game will be Adult, as I think any concept of the world should and could be explored.
Anyways, if you are interested, either PM me, or express your interest here. For starters 4-6 players will be maximum.

None, at all... As the original game is a miniature wargame, the RPG variant will be totally different and really only tapping into the background of the setting. So no experience with wargaming is required at all. Only Roleplay experience, and a vivid imagination :D

I could be interested in this. New to the site, kind of new to PbP and RPGs. Looking for something to play online though, this looks fun. Setting should be cool, and if I'm understanding correctly it'll mostly play like a standard story/exploration RPG game with a loose D20ish system? If so that's something I think I'd enjoy and adapt to easily.

Game is now set to NOT actively looking for players. However, IF you are interested, feel free to contact me via pm, here or in game. Especially ACTIVE players are asked to join up. At the moment we are at an average 1 post daily for most players. I would like to keep this up to keep the game flowing. That said, even if you feel you can post only once or twice a week there is a place for you.

We are currently looking for non-fighter characters. There is also an option for some NPC players for support roles.

Due to some absent players we are once again on the lookout for ACTIVE players. Preferably those that can post once every day or two, if possible even more.

Ive had questions on what characters we need... We dont 'need' anything but all survivors regardless of skill are welcome. It doestnt matter if you are a former cop, or a mall attendant... Eveyone has skills they bring, and all skills are welcome. As we are mostly what they call 'sandbox' it really matters little. We all work together in order to survive the sun, the famine and the undead.
