This will be a one off adventure based on the popular franchise, Fallout. PCs will handle their character creation by themselves; the goal is to spend very little time here to get to roleplaying faster.

The general story line is all PCs have been wasteland wonders for varying amounts of time and have been brought together to accomplish a goal that will be outlined in the opening scenes.

Sounds like a fantastic idea, but I only have Core.

I'm open to using core. I went with FAE for the speed of throwing a game together.

There is a pay what you like (usually free) pdf option online.

I realize this has been dormant for like a month, but are you still trying to assemble this? I've wanted to try out FAE for a while, and with all the Fallout hype, I'm interested in what you're proposing.

Sorry I got distracted by the holidays, life and whatnot. My computer's been down, and might be coming back online soon, but for the time being, I'm on my tablet. It barely works. In any case, I didn't like some of the aspects I recalled from FAE, so that's why I suggested Core. I'm fairly imaginative, but don't really know much about Fallout 4, and have probably forgotten as much about the older ones as I know about 3, so it depends on whether generalities will do, or specific knowledge is required.

This does sound cool, and there is always the fate system srd.
