In the City of Elua, the capital of Terre D'Ange, the land of angels, there is political turmoil brewing. The King of Terre D'Ange, Charles de la Courcel, Charles of House Courcel, has left the succession of the throne uncertain. His only legitimate child, a young woman, is considered by many to been too young and unseasoned to rule. His illegitimate children are either too ambitious or too lazy. His nephew, his distant cousin's son, has all the outward appearances of a great ruler, but is he perhaps less capable than he seems?
All the while the Ducs and Duchesses of the Provinces see the questionable succession of an aging king as an opportunity to advance the position of their house, either by attempting to align their house with one of the heirs apparent or by shifting political power away from the capital into the hands of the Provinces.

The citizens of Terre D'Ange are descendants of the demi-god Blessed Elua and his Angelic Companions, who left the One God for mortal happiness. Central to their society is Blessed Elua's one Precept
"Love as Thou Wilt." Where all the citizens of Terre D'Ange possess an other worldly beauty, even the men. Naamah, the angelic goddess of love, is revered by the use of Servants of Naamah, or Sacred Coutesans, who are elite users of Naamah's arts, and are highly revered in their society.
This game looks for skilled writers, interested in writing detailed character, in a beautiful fantasy world, with a strong setting focus on sex, love, and power, and how those things come into conflict.
What is the Kushielverse?
The Kushielverse is based on the Universe created in the novels of Jacqueline Carey. The novels follow the story of a Courtesan/spy in a historical fantasy or alternate history (Terre d'Ange) society that follows a demi-god, Elua, whose precept is "Love as thou wilt". The map of Terre d'Ange, the "Land of the Angels," bears a striking resemblance to that of France.
As with all "something-verse" games, knowledge of the setting will not go a miss, but it is not required to fully enjoy the game. In fact, many readers started off playing games like this one (as I did). And Jacqueline Carey is somewhat unique in that she actively encourages these games and freely answers questions from her fans.
