A Single Thread is a 4th edition Legend of the Five Rings campaign set in the current era.

After the upheaval of Iweko Seiken's rise to the throne and his decree that the Daigotsu family is no longer the head of the Spider Clan, Daigotsu Kanpeki declared war upon the Empire. Only a small contingent of Spider samurai, under the rule of Seiken's brother Susumu Shibatsu, have remained loyal to the throne. War looms over the Emerald Empire. Old rivalries are flaring up again and new alliances are formed in the ashes of the old.

 You are almost a samurai, coming of age into a world where darkness threatens to overtake your homeland. Despite the turmoil in the world around you, there is still hope. Somehow you have been entered into the Topaz Championship, chosen to represent your Clan at what many consider to be the most prestigious gempukku ceremony in all Rokugan.

OOC: This is a solo campaign for one player (not a specific player, opening RTJs shortly). It begins with the Topaz Championship and, depending on what the character/player wants and how they do in the competition, can go in any direction.
