In 2113 AD, humanity has advanced, but not as much as one would hope. There are still wars. There's almost nothing ever good on TV. You still can't read the comment section on most sites. Nobody has a jetpack. Yet for all that, there
has been a change. Due to overpopulation, a new type of 'synthetic country' has come to exist. Owned by private enterprises and ambitious governments alike, these manmade city-sized islands have increasingly grown popular.
None, however, manage to match the monolith that is Nova Cael. The original prototype sits between the eastern coast of Australia and the Solomon Isles, the brainchild of the Babel corporation, one of the world's most diverse enterprises, whose headquarters and highly classified research labs are in Nova Cael. Originally home to only Babel employees and their families, it now boasts a population of close to 800,000 people, many whom were born there, as it has been seventy years since Nova Cael opened.
Rising from the ocean and into the sky, intricately layered buildings and floors create levels and districts, a city that spreads up and down, not to the sides. By day a shining beacon, at night it becomes a neon drenched wonderland.
However, in the last ten years a startling phenomena has occurred; a few children born on Nova Cael have developed a certain...
ability. One which allows them to imprint on others and give them special powers of their own. The first to recognize this was a young man named Hyperion, who set forth the following rules lest chaos break out.
Never let anyone,
particularly no one associated with Babel, know about any of it. Never give a sigil to anyone dangerous. Keep those you mark close; you're responsible for what they do. Kings must do all that they can to avoid fighting directly. Tell new Kings what they are and teach them the rules.
As a result, underneath the mainstream society of Nova Cael now exists a secret world where Kings -- as those with the special ability came to be called -- with various agendas clash. Every group wants something different. Some want to have answers. Others simply want to be reckless. Others yet are simply curious about how they could change the world.

▷ Hyperion Sigil is an anime-based original RPG borrowing concepts from a few different sources, jumbling them together, adding a little spice, and seeing what occurs. It will be mostly freeform, with the GM guiding events in the background or arranging things a little more diabolically, as the situation and the players call for.
