The Great Transplanar Railroad! Magic!  Trains!  Waffles!

What could possibly go wrong?

For Uncounted Eons* the multiverse endured.  It evolved, it grew, but it remained a stable place.  Air, Earth, Fire, Water, Good, Evil, Law, Chaos, Light, Dark... all existed, all strove against each other, but all remained.  Some great upheaval was always in sight.  Some universe-ending cataclysm always on the horizon.  But for some reason, it never happened.  The grandest schemes always failed, and despite an eternity of effort by the mightiest beings in the cosmos, nothing really changed that much.

Nothing much changed, until the Gnomes discovered machines.  And the Dwarves discovered a material so magical it was beyond magic.  When they got together, and thought of the things they could do with it, "techgnomagy" was unleashed upon the cosmos.  As were waffles.

They began to build a network of special roads for their machines, and found they could travel through the myriad planes of existence in ways the gods themselves hadn't predicted.

The Great Transplanar Railroad was born. It crosses the multiverse, and is rapidly making the old system of Portals and Spells obsolete.  Now, all you have to do to go from Paradise to the horrors of the Abyss is buy a ticket.  It is changing everything.  And still growing, and still bringing more changes.  But the Gnomes have found they can't go it alone.  They need, as their Chief Metafinancial Officer put it in the last bored meeting, "A more diverse skill set to deal with the issues brought up by the ever growing range of... dang it, let's face it, our customers can be weird."

Now the Gnomes are hiring "Customer Service Representatives".  They don't want mighty heroes or world-shaking mages.  (They can't afford them anyway)  Wouldn't do at all for Transplanar Railroad Employees to go around bashing and blasting.  They want clever people who can solve problems with wit and wile.

This is a light hearted game, a genre I have named Steamplanepunkscape.  Although the setting is borrowed from DnD, the basic system is The Window, which is simple, less rules boggled, more towards the free-form side but not quite, and of course, free, which is a big plus in its favor.  No knowledge of the system is required!  It's that easy!

The characters can run the range of fantasy character ideas- negotiable, though with some no-go exceptions.  (See below)   The game is not going to be a combat-treasure finding-monster stomp game, it's built more around interaction and problem solving.  And having fun with a multiverse in which Gnomes are introducing their new toys.

If this sounds like fun, go and report to the Hiring Office (Request to Join).

No knowledge of the game system is required!

No characters who are:  Psionic**, Undead***, or not ready to be a friendly member of a friendly group.  These will not be permitted into the Hiring Office.  If they get in, they will not be permitted to leave.  Ever.

At this time, I would like to get a player or two who would like to join on a temporary basis as a Passenger.  If you like it, you can stay on permanently, of course.

* This is because there were no Gnomes.  If there had been Gnomes, the Eons would have been counted.
**Our customers really don't like having their thoughts read.
***We've had trouble with Undead, trying to claim their Employee Death Benefits on the first day of their job.  It really didn't work.

This bit of silliness across the multiverse still needs players looking to escape the serious, dramatic, gripping story lines they face in other games.
