I have started a D&D 5e game for a small fast paced group.

The setting is a combination of LOTR inspiration and classic D&D adventure types, such as keep on the borderlands. Settlements are far from each other, isolated, kingdoms are far apart from one another. Roving bands of bandits, evil humanoids and monsters. Players have to rely on themselves to do what they want and will be the deciding factor in whether or not the day is saved.

The background story is that a few years ago a large army of Tiamat laid waste to much of the region, and was defeated only by great heroes who vanquished her champions. This scattered the Tiamatan Horde but this left much of the Tiamatan forces alive and roaming the land as raiders and warlords. Rumors of a new draconic warlord in the west are whispered in every tavern and waystation on the roads.

We'll start in Drellin's Ferry, a small village, but your character doesn't have to have been born there. I'll request that the players come from within the region on the map, however, and we can build ties between characters.
