Points/Dice: 10 Dice
Description: In a city in between the worlds, Magic and Technology collide to create opportunity for adventures.
Not familiar with Risus? No problem. Ask any question you like, or freeform and I'll guide you into the system, or help you ignore it.
In the city of Portcullis, an unlikely band of adventurers work mostly together as they seek to fulfill Synthia's last request.
Synthia gathered together many adventurers on a quest to save a little girl named Auricle. Synthia died tragically, trying to get to Auricle.
The game is a sandbox. There are many quests you can participate in, but none that you are required to do so. You can have a solo adventure, or join a group and travel with other players.
Abandoned characters may become NPCs to facilitate continuity. A character shall be considered abandoned if the player does not log in for 1 month. I am happy to change the name and description in such cases if requested. Such characters may always be reclaimed, or adjusted by their creators in any way, including removal from the game.

((everyone now in the common room))
Empowered Scilick (7/7) +20d6, +35, reroll 1s, reroll 20 dice, damage proportional to roll ratio
14:42, Today: Scilick rolled 168 using 47d6+35, dropping the 20 lowest rolls, rerolling ones. Against Synthia.
Damage caused: up to 9
Sprocket burst into the room, the others right behind him.
Scilick grabbed her by the hair, holding his charged Dagger to her throat, he shouted, "Leave her with me, and escort yourselves out. She's paid you, hasn't she?" Two more arms unfolded from his side, grabbed his guns, and pointed them, one at the door, one at Serafina.
Sprocket snarled, his steel hackles rose, he bared his titanium plated teeth and barked, "Let her go! We already know where Auricle is, you can't stop us from getting there now! It's pointless!"
Scilick tilted his head to the side, and whispered, "You're bluffing." He tightenned his grip on her hair and the dagger, then he shouted, "I said LEA-"
He was cut short by a laser blast to his Dagger arm. The distraction had worked. His Dagger arm flew away from her, and he quickly ducked behind the wall. The team jumped into action, preparing to battle Scilick and the guards.
Unfortunately, he had already made his cut. Synthia was bleeding out. Scilick tossed an orb toward her. He taunted, "Save yourself." The orb landed directly in front of her.
Synthia fumbled for the button on the orb. Life as a machine may not be her choice, but it was better than the alternative. She pressed the button she knew she'd find. Hundreds of metal legs sprung from the orb.
But it did not do what it was meant to do. It did not grasp her head. It did not upload her consciousness. It quivered. Synthia's heart gave up. Everything went black.
