"When the Badlands came to Kolari, they brought only death and destruction."
- Senechal Tyvon, Oosla's Legacy
In the land of Salental, the human's time is coming to an end. From across the ocean in the Badlands of Quesan, the Ogres have combined their forces with the Goblins and have decided to take what they claim was theirs.
The World of Man.
Under the guidance of Oosla M'Kan of the Kella Clan, the 16 districts of southern Quesan have united and have been led across the sea into the very heart of human occupation. And into the fires of war that have been raging for hundreds of years. The southern nation of Dunlopa and the northern traders of Ardmilia putting aside their differences to defend the species, well, a snowball in the Lorisian Desert could show you the chance of that.
"Between the lands of Ardmilia -The economic powerhouse we have all paid into. Leading into Dunlopa -the highest quality of goods and weapons seen in Salental. You see, they are two sides of the same coin. Two polar opposite theologies started by the same man who killed the Dragon King Dorogar to start it all. The attempted unification of the two nations have spilt more blood in the last hundred years then any war the Herenth'al could dream of. And as we all know, the chaos the Herenth'al of Shario wish upon us all could only be thought of as a cataclysm."
- Selius Kruvaan, A History of Kolari Nationalism
Across the ocean they sailed, sweeping the Goblins of Cheb into their army. The Ogres occupying the holy island of Fetan, where the Dragon King's body still lay in the mountain that was his hoard, a grisly reminder to what happens when a monster of Chatol decides subjugation of the 'lesser' species was more beneficial than killing them.
The Herenth'al, a species stranded from their home realm have been retreating to their land of Shario. The fears of another Crusade from the Fire Elves have forced Zev, Partool, and the island of Nib to form a coalition to protect their sovereignty from the fanged menace. The only hope of stopping the creatures has been to stop their boats, yet the Ardmilian and Dunlopan navies have been locked into combat outside of the Lorisian to try and lay claim to the Catalyst Diamonds.
Meanwhile, in the Lorisian Desert in northern Quesan, where the portal to the realm of the Herenth'al had detonated, business for Catalyst Diamonds has never been better. With the rise of the Ogres forcing mercenary companies to become "Spikers" the slave trade has exploded into a frenzy. The installers of the gems have been busy, fusing the unstable Catalyst Diamonds into the bodies of the warriors either from the Coalition or Kolari soldiers who will do anything for the upper hand in a battle.
Yet the forsaken shores of Chatol whisper the promise of death to any of the settlements formed. With the Dragon clans becoming agitated at each other, the destruction of their conflicts raising like a tsunami to sweep over the golden plains. The settlers have been forced to start digging under ground to avoid the battles. As deep as they go, another threat raises to meet them...
Yes, the world of Salental has seen brighter times. The fear of an extinction event has proven to be very real. But will the Kolari nations put aside their differences? Will the Harenth'al explode out of Shario for another genocidal attack into the world? Will the Dragon clans be united under another King? What awaits the brave settlers of Chatol in the depths?
Well, child, I do not know. The fate of the world is not in the hands of an old man like myself, but the strength of the few. The few who know what need to be done. The few who can bear the weight of their decisions. And the few with the power to demand we not lay down and die, but raise up and scream into the face of death.
The few glorious martyrs...

Name:
Race (Human, Elf, Minotaur, Kobold, Herenth'al, Dunnal, or Satyr):
Nationality:
Height:
Description:
Feats:
Strength (The ability to hit hard or lift heavy items)
Intelligence (The more intelligent you are, the more likely I will alert you of terrible things that might happen during your plan. It also affects any whom can use the magical arts.)
Dexterity (Hand-Eye coordination. How likely you are to hit with ranged, or the ability to climb things quickly.)
Charisma (How likely are you to communicate efficiently with the NPCs of the world? Higher Charisma gains you higher chance of getting a discount, or being allowed to do something different then what is the norm.)
Focus (Focus is the perseverance of your mind. Meaning any magical damage or panic-inducing affect will have to roll a check on your focus. It also helps you become more impressive in crafting, be it traps or a new plate armour.)
Endurance (How much of a hit you can take before you fall down. Also carrying capacity.)
Stamina (The chance of doing something bad-ass over and over again. Think of it like mana for abilities. If you keep doing back flips in a fight, and your stamina is really, really low, well, you're going to fall over or not be able to do anything after you land.)
You will have to put a numerical value to the bolded above. Your race will give you more or less as will your nationality. This helps me more then it does you. I will be mostly running the game by ear, but a Half-Ogre chatting up a diplomat will require me comparing your feats and the other character's.
You have 20 Points to spend at level 1. And then will apply your species buff/nerf for the feat.
I am running this game in a freeform style, with very little rolling, and almost all done by me. The numerical value is to help me and only me. And show yourself that you specialise in a certain field.
Story is much more important than min-maxxing. So I am willing to accept characters for all factions, there is no "evil" or "good" in this game. And as such, a character could at one point save a kitten from a tree, and then murder an orphan in the same post. As long as the transition makes sense, I will allow it.
There are a few different races in the world of Salental. Each with their own perks and downfalls. There are many other creatures that are not playable, that you will find throughout the world.
If you feel up for it, here is the link.

If you are wanting to be a mage or have Diamonds installed in you. I need to do a roll for either one. So let me know before you make you character. Cheers!
We are currently switching out players who do not post regularly. And as such, I figured I may as well offer their characters up to folks before I kill them off.
We are looking for a charming traveller who was trying to put his adventuring days behind him.
- Currently doing a favour for an old acquaintance. By working to either steal or purchase a large quantity of a highly addictive substance named Kolibara.
Also a snow white Minotaur, who is just too trusting.
-(unknowingly)Addicted to Kolibara, going through withdrawal symptoms.
-Getting sucked into an underground war between a cartel and pirates, simply trying to survive.
A crippled Kobold, whom used to be best friends of a traitor who murdered hundreds of her own kin.
-Broken leg, stabbed through the shoulder.
-Not clever enough to survive on his own.
-Just landed in hostile territory.
