A shadow had fallen across the world.  A shadow that resulted from the searing bightness of the Light of Judgment, as the insane commander of the Empire named Kefka assassinated the Emperor and shifted the statues of the Warring Triad out of alignment while seeking to become as a god himself.  One month after Kefka rose to power, seated in his floating fortress in the sky, life has attempted to move on.  Eeking out a bleak existence in constant fear of monsters in the wastes, unsealed dragons and other various monsters within, upon, and above the lands.  In one small town in particular, hope has taken on a new name: The Bardsongs, a guild put in place by some mysterious benefactors in order to help the citizens of Cleyra survive.  For the Bardsongs, no job is too small, ranging from precuring herbs from the wilds for the local healer to finding lost kids who roamed too far.

There is more evil in the world than that floating in the island above and embodied in Kefka.  There are more subtle evils moving in the world.  Evils which have influenced everything from the beginning.  This is the story of the Bardsongs... one that has no been heard untiil now.............

Final Fantasy: The Bardsongs takes place in the world of Final Fantasy 6. Knowledge of the FF6 landscape is not necessary in order to join this game.  However, for those who are familiar with FF6, there may be small easter eggs now and then, appearances of particular people or items in the background, though they have little bearing on the events that are transpiring.  There is an overall story arch behind the scenes, however the game is also Sandbox, allowing players to help guide the story between The Beginning and The End while exploring the world freely.  This game is mostly meant to allow players to learn the Final Fantasy RPG 3e ruleset.  I will NOT being using any of my homebrew rules or the ORD material available for FFRPG 3e.  This will be straight up the core rulebook.  Because there will be no homebrew rules (see my other game for that), things like combat may take a long time, but it is all in the spirit of learning.

With all that said... welcome... pick up a the belt that carries your guild's emblem, and become one of the Bardsongs of legend.

Note this game has a Mature Flag.  Mature games are games which have (as some minor portion of them) mature themes, strong language, drug use, and/or extensive violence.  Mature games use the Mature Content flag to warn potential readers that some of the game material may be considered offensive.  Despite this flag, Mature Games must remain suitable to all ages.

The Mature flag is due to the game taking place in the World of Ruin after Kefka comes to power.  It can be a dark place.  So become a Bardsong and bring some light into it!
