In the wake of the destruction of the world, the planes are in disarray. The damage caused by the Gods’ War is still far from repaired. The vast majority of the Material Plane is a graveyard. The few surviving mortals are scattered throughout the planes. Planar tears open and close at random, planes bleeding into each other, mixing their fundamental natures in unpredictable manners. The Extant are in hiding, seven Abominations are on the loose somewhere in the multiverse, and the Primes are divided on what to do.

To make matters worse, the balance of the Blood War may have irrevocably shifted. Demogorgon used the stolen divine energy to great effect, taking his armies to Avernus in a sudden rush. The Bronze Citadel has fallen, and the fate of Bel is unknown. Every hour, Demogorgon’s forces receive more support from the Abyss, with other Demon Princes reluctantly offering their support, lest they lose their own forces to Demogorgon’s call to battle.

In the midst of all this, eight new Gods have Ascended, mortals of great power who died with their world. Those who know of their existence watch and wonder: Will they hasten the collapse of all that was, or will they save it?
