In some time, in some place, there was a city called Midnight City. It wasn't the brightest city, even with the neon signs lighting up the streets at night. It's a city of crime, filled with casinos and gangs and thugs. The police have their hands full just trying to keep things peaceful. But of course things can never be that way. It's not the way the city was made to be.
The
Midnight Crew are the ones who built this city. Well, their ancestors did, really, a few generations ago. Or so the rumors say. But they're the ones running the city with an iron fist. They may be a strange pair of four - the stab-happy Spades Slick, the cold and calculating Diamonds Droog, the childlike demolitions expert Clubs Deuce, and the big and rough muscle Hearts Boxcars - but they're strange enough to have everything under their control
Not if
The Felt have anything to say about it, though. The Felt are the Crew's rival mob, which is bad enough. To make matters worse, rumors say they aren't exactly human. They may look it, but those time powers of theirs and their uncanny ability to keep coming back to life say otherwise. Lead by the mysterious and virtually unknown Lord English, they have a good half of Midnight City under their control. You can tell from the green. Seems they want more. More what? Blood, territory, recognition - it's hard to say. But they want it.
And then there are the few men who are willing to put up with this insanity. Though they may be nothing more than a bunch of crazy detectives,
Team Sleuth is willing to deal with the madness of the city around them, maybe even fight for justice in a sort of diplomatic matter. I can't say they're too successful at it though.
Midnight City is a dangerous place, even with thethe two gangs at each other's throats. But you can make a living for yourself here, if you're just willing to put up with the danger. And if you live through it. But that's life here. You learn to get used to it.
