Cyberpunk Lifepath Game
A Colder Wind is a cyberpunk black box lifepath game with an immersive focus. What does this mean?
Black Box: There's a game system, but it's behind the scenes, and you won't have access to it. Just describe what you do, and the GM will determine what happens. How do you know what you're capable of? Same way you do in real life. Sometimes you over-estimate yourself, sometimes you under-estimate yourself.
Lifepath: The game takes the players from youth to adulthood as a prelude. This is both to create backstory, and a form of character creation. Who we are is a function of how we react to what we experience.
Immersive: As much as possible, what you know is what your character knows, and all information is parsed to you through the lens of your character's personality. Players will contribute to this atmosphere by only presenting the information the other PCs have access to; what their senses can tell them.
This should, ideally, add to the ambiguous trust issues that define the cyberpunk genre. You should never know, precisely, who you can trust. You should never know what other people are thinking or feeling, not with 100% certainty. Some of your fellow PCs may actually be NPCs. Some of them may be traitors. Trust sparingly. Watch your back.
