Casual Traveller RPG Campaign

I am styling this game as "Casual Traveller."

By that I mean I, the GM, have a setting;

The Gateway Domain in the Classic Traveller period. A Sector with a little Third Imperium, a dozen or more pocket empires, the K'Kree, some unexplored regions, and some Vildani thrown in for good measure.

The players will create their characters, probably have a ship, and decide as a crew what they want to do from there. Trade, dockside adventures, scout, explore, smuggling, whatever.

I am not starting this one with an adventure in mind, as this is not meant to be a wham-bam one-shot, but a protracted campaign.

So: If you are looking for some space arena combat or want a character who does not play well with others - this game is not for you.

Rules: Due to the complexities of Traveller's character creation, I must ask that you have access to Mongoose's core Traveller book.

For posting rate, I ask you do what you can, as I will. My work blocks RPOL and I travel at times.

I am looking for some replacement crew.

Looking for characters with ship driving skills (Astrogator and Sensor/Gunner).

This is classic, ultimate sandbox, Traveler. Merchants keeping their ship flying, through all kinds of crazy.

We are running a traditional free trader/keep 'er flyin' small-merchant Mongoose Traveller campaign. It's been fun but as with any long running game, we've had some attrition.

Most important: this is a long running game. Problems are better solved through diplomacy, deals, or trickery than massive gunfights that will leave everyone dead.

Also, please, only apply if you have been playing or running games on RPOL for a while. The pace is a couple posts a week - but I am looking for longevity.

A mature game, so I will need a statement of age (see the RTJ rules in Game).

Finally (if you are still interested), there is a catch:

We are currently on a backward, airless port world and recruiting a crewman (ie character - back story up to you how you landed here) to take care of passengers (game terms a point in Stewart).

If still interested, drop me a RTJ!
