Arkham Asylum Anarchy

Amadeus Arkham originally founded the "Elizabeth Arkham Asylum for the Criminally Insane" in the memory of his mother, whom he euthanized as treatment for her dementia. Building the facility on the grounds of his family's historic mansion on the outskirts of Gotham City, Amadeus personally treated it's first inmate, Martin "Mad Dog" Hawkins, who had killed Arkham's wife and daughter. After administering fatal electroshock therapy to Hawkins following a disastrous rehabilitation, Amadeus lost all grip on his own sanity and was admitted into his own institution.

Following Amadeus' death, Arkham Asylum was passed down to his nephew, Jeremiah Arkham. Jermiah took a hardline approach towards the care of his patients. He completely renovated the interior of the hospital, tearing away the old Victorian-style architecture, replacing it with newly designed interconnecting corridors patterned in the style of old classical labyrinths. With little regard for the hospital's dark history, Jeremiah was certain to destroy old remnants of the old asylum, including his uncle's private journals.

One of a long line of wardens for the facility, Quincy Sharp has been running Arkham Asylum for the past three years and has dedicated his life to restoring to sanity the so-called super villains that plague Gotham City. He is currently campaigning to become the next mayor of Gotham; to facilitate the campaign, he has instigated stringent new security and experimental research policies at Arkham.

Arkham Asylum does not have a good record, at least with regard to the high-profile cases—patients, such as the Joker, are frequently escaping at will — and those who are considered to no longer be mentally unwell and discharged tend to re-offend. Furthermore, several staff members, including its founder, Dr. Amadeus Arkham, and director Dr. Jeremiah Arkham, as well as staff members Dr. Harleen Quinzel, Lyle Bolton and Drs. Jonathan Crane and Hugo Strange, have become mentally unwell, too.

You are an inmate in Arkham. Because you are evil. Or mad. Probably both.

Two days ago, power went out in the Asylum for unknown reasons, causing security systems to fail, letting all the inmates run free.
It didnt take long until the inmates had overwhelmed the security forces and took control of the Asylum, but Gotham PD had it surrounded in no time.

It has come some some sort standoff-situation. The PD doesnt dare to sent units in, while the criminally insane havent found a way to escape. Yet.

And Batman is nowhere to be seen.

Welcome to Arkham Anarchy!

This game uses a very light set of homebrew-rules, that Id like to keep in the background as much as possible.

As the new co-GM of this game, it is my duty to say unto you: Bump! We need more villains! There's a war coming, and you want to be on the right side! Also: Taco Tuesday in the cafeteria!
