Nights of Damnation (oWoD VtM)

Here's a lullaby to close your eyes
Goodbye..
It was always you that I despised
I don't feel enough for you to cry
Oh well..
Here's a lullaby to close your eyes
Goodbye...
Goodbye...

Nights of Damnation details the struggles of the Kindred during their cursed existence the fictional city of New Antioch, a city ruled by a tyrannical Prince and his warlock cabal. In this vast domain most Kindred live of the scraps left by their elders and try to scrape whatever they can out of their eternal existence. This is a game of intrigue, horror and damnation where the players try to navigate the treacherous currents of the Jyhad as best they can.

I am starting my first pbp game after Storytelling for many years for a real life group. This is an intrigue based game. Combat is kept to a minimum if I can help it, and so should you if you wish to keep your unlife going. I don't shelter players from the fallout of their mistakes and if you mess up bad enough, you can die, simple as that. In my experience that makes the game far more thrilling rather then the old sheltered hand approach some ST's use.

I am looking for some dedicated roleplayers who are willing to work in a sandboxed environment that reacts to their actions. I wish for proactive players who are motivated to make a name for their characters. Fair word of warning: the World of Darkness is ruthless and bleak and I play it that way. Expect themes of horror, darkness, hopelessness and every dark aspect the night can bring.

I am looking for a good number of fledglings and neonates who will be unleashed on the city to work out what they can do. Please take some time to read through the material I have already posted and read the RTJ carefully.

Re: Nights of Damnation (oWoD VtM)

The first in-game night has passed and several players have nestled in, while sadly, a great deal dropped off. Such is the nature of RPOL games I fear, but in part I feel I myself am to blame. But we live and we learn!

The game is off on a good start, and more players are welcome to make their mark on New Antioch. I want to warn you, this is a player-driven game; You decide what you want to do, and your ST (which is me), will not take your hand to do so. I provide the world around you, but you need to define your own ambitions and ways of chasing them. That I think cost me some players, since folk sadly are a bit used to being railroaded. This is not that kind of game.

Secondly, I turned down many applications because of power creep. From the outright Obtenebration Caitiff (if I can't play a Lasombra, I'll make a Lasombra lite), to the Hidden diablorie Celerity-potence-protean murder machines. You are not welcome because this game isn't about combat. Let that be clear. Let's not waste each others' time.

What I do like are well-rounded and thought-out characters that touch on how they emotionally deal with the embrace, how it changed them, and what they decide to do afterwards to cope with their new existence. You can go lord it over the mortals, some will turn to kindred politics, and others will set out to make their own mark on the world, while some are conformists who just want to belong. But you are a part of the world, and you shape it around you. I have players making alliances already, and working together to improve their influence. Another is perfectly happy to just enjoy the nightly scenery. It is all possible in this game, you just need to go out there and do it.

Does this kind of game appeal to you? Then head on over, and give us a spin.
