[Gurps] A space opera influenced game

The setting is a fairly standard TL10 realistic Solar system, well explored and being well utilized. Then, in the very recent past, a break through in super science tech related to gravitics was made.

While The Solar system deals with the changes contragravity and a weak reactionless thruster makes, The individuals responsible for the breakthroughs, and owners of all related patents incorporate and keep on researching.

Now it's 15 years later. Contragravity has almost replaced Beanstalks on Earth. Thrust is a constant .1G while fuel tanks are converted to more cargo. Those who can't afford to make the changes to their ships now work for those who could.

Then another breakthrough is made, although this one hasn't been released, yet. AN Inertialess drive. Potential FTL.

Would you like to crew the Prototype of this new drive on it's first flight?

Re: [Gurps] A space opera influenced game

We have two opening left and could really use someone that can use a sensor panel and analyze a planet form orbit for potential later use.

We also have an opening for a general Electronics expert with several Repair skills and a few operation skills as well. An Engineer's mate, if you will.

If you are interested in either of these spots, please give the setting a look and send an RTJ. We are hoping to start within the week.

Re: [Gurps] A space opera influenced game

The party is testing the prototype of the first star drive currently, and will soon need a full crew for exploration of the nearby solar systems.

We have room for 3 more crew, and need:
-A Medic, preferably a full fledged Doctor that can also monitor the Hydroponics between the raere workplace accident.
-A Gunner that can double as a relief sensor tech.
-A fill in that can spell the Doctor in the hydroponics as well as fill the  3rd engineering station in a shipboard emergency. Preferably with a variety of Electronics Repair skills to supplement the two ship's Engineers' Mechanics skills. Repair skill should include Comms, Sensors, Computers, Medical, Scientific, and even security or surveillance.

The game is TL 10 (well established) with some TL 10^ recently discovered and still in fairly early stages.

The crew is made up of semi elite civilian hires, and, as such, some disadvantages are restricted. The game is 250 points, without cybernetics (regeneration makes them unnecessary) or human bio engineering (a societal limit). I am trying for a bit of a modernized 50's space opera feel, although I may not fully realize it.

Re: [Gurps] A space opera influenced game

Humanity's first stardrive has been tested, and its first interstellar exploration craft is about to be sent out. The crew still needs both a medic and z gunner, however.

GURPS tl 10 with some limited tl 9^ and tl 10^.
