Here's how it is.  After the Earth was used up, we found a new solar system and hundreds of new Earths were terraformed and colonized. The central planets formed the Alliance and decided all the planets had to join under their rule. There was some disagreement on that point. After the War, many of the Independents who had fought and lost drifted to the edges of the system, far from Alliance control. Out here, people struggled to get by with the most basic technologies; a ship would bring you work, a gun would help you keep it. A captain's goal was simple: find a crew, find a job, keep flying.

Captain Shen Lu Bai is a stocky, muscular man in his early forties.  Public access information available on the Cortex indicates that he had served the alliance marines during the Unification War but that he was discharged under questionable circumstances shortly after the conflict ended.  He was married once but that also ended badly over a decade ago and his vindictive ex-wife still hires attorneys and private investigators to collect his surprising volume of delinquent alimony payments.  Since the war Lu Bai has occasionally surfaced on the alliance radar, usually in connection with some petty crime or swindle.  He's served a few short jail terms but somehow always seems to get his sentences commuted.

About a year ago Lu Bai finally obtained his own spacecraft, a Mark I Firefly-class "fixer-upper" named Tianjin.  He's struggled to keep the freighter in the air due to parts shortages, corrupt "business" partners, and a revolving door of substandard crew members.  However, he hired a fresh group of raw recruits last month and so far their prospects have been looking up.

The story begins on the planet of Greenleaf, where the crew is picking up a supply of "pharmaceutical plants" from a dealer who would like to remain anonymous.

I'm looking for 4-5 dedicated players who are fans of the Firefly/Serenity universe and who can commit to a daily posting rate.  Well-developed character concepts and good writing skills are a must.  I'm excited about telling an interesting series of collaborative stories with a group of like-minded gamers and will work hard to incorporate your interests and goals.  The game will use the Serenity RPG rules from Margaret Weiss Productions and is rated Mature.

The ideal crew will include at least one pilot, engineer, medic, and security officer with a wide range of skills.  Even though your characters will all be new to the Tianjin, they will have experience from other jobs/careers in their past.  We'll be starting at the Veteran Heroic Level (48 Attribute Points).
