Game of Thrones: To Rule the Kingdoms

Game Introduction

 Aegon Targaryen, known to history as the Conqueror, invaded and united Westeros. His forces swept across the land, wresting control from the Andal lords, who themselves had conquered the First Men thousands of years ago. The dynasty King Aegon founded lasted for nearly three hundred years. Despite many tumultuous upheavals, including civil wars, uprisings, and rebellions, the Targaryens survived, but all things come to an end.

 The Seven Kingdoms are greater than the man seated on the Iron Throne, and these mighty realms have stood since before the Targaryens. They trace their lineage back to the Age of Heroes, when magic permeated the land, dark things crept in the light of the winter moon, and the greatest deeds of mortals were done.

 In this world, seasons last for years, not months, and family generations can be traced back for thousands of years to the Age of Heroes. Ancestral weapons may be worth more than a lordling’s only daughter, and castles may have flown a score of banners in their storied histories.

 Magic lives mostly in the myths and faded dreams of earlier generations. The learned masters say it died out a lifetime ago, with the last of the dragons, but others say it still exists amongst the magi and warlocks of the exotic eastern lands.

Maester Qyraen the Wanderer "These are interesting times in the Seven Kingdoms. For ages the houses of Dorne and the Reach have fought against each other. Then came Baelor and he boldly engineered a plan to unite these two powerful kingdoms by marrying a Princess of Dorne. With this all eyes of the Seven Kingdoms were drawn to the Marches and the young sons and daughters of the region would forge the future. Even children of minor houses gained recognition as they struggled to bring glory to their houses. However, in the other kingdoms suspicion was deep in the older houses and many refused to acknowledge the Marcher houses. And so, the children of minor houses converge on Kings Landing to exploit this important marriage..."

◾ Will Include all at some given point; War, Strategy, Politics, Mystery, Intrigue, and even some Romance.

What kind of roleplay is this?
◾ Roleplay heavy (combat happens normally but is not the focus of the game)

◾ Low magic and fantasy
◾ Beginners and experienced players

We are currently allowing new players in our Southern Campaign, for more information on RTJ please see the below links. If interested please read through the information before making your request.

Southern Campaign:
 Our original game group began in the Southern Campaign, this is the focus group and tends to be the most active.

Northern Campaign:
 Our second group and first expansion of the setting is the Northern Campaign, Its currently being rebooted and still in its opening IC. These two groups have nothing in common other than the timeline, and players are welcomed to make PCs for both campaigns.
link to a message in another game & link to a message in another game

Kings Landing Campaign:
 Our third and last campaign takes place four years after the start of the first two campaigns. This group is by invitation only (returning players are welcomed to join) This is a very light rule campaign were the PCs are from powerful houses, play major roles, effect and influence the setting greatly. Cannon can not be change, BUT you are involved with major events. ITs as close as we can get to freeform and still have the elements that make it challenging.

GM Note:

For those of you that may have played with us before, you are welcomed to return. In fact we encourage anyone that was with us to come back. The game has progressed but we are still in the same storyline.

 I know you may see a game with 6000+ posts and think there is no way you can join so late in the game. Well I don't see it that way and NO ONE PLAYER does any of these games focus on, .... so there is always room from more. Also I have read on some of the other forums that playing a strict game that focus on strict cannon doesn't work well. I happen to agreed in some games, but not these games, and I want you to know that we follow cannon but this is always open to some interpretation, .... so far its worked well for us.

Re: Game of Thrones: To Rule the Kingdoms

I am looking for some players, who would be willing to start a House in the Vale of Arryn. If you are interested, join the Northern game and tell me.

Re: Game of Thrones: To Rule the Kingdoms

We are currently rebooting our Northern Campaign and willing to take on more players for this group. We have 3 player houses and many open positions that you may enjoy playing.

Some background on the story so far;

 The year is 169, It is the forth year of summer and it's the time to harvest the field. The people of Westeros have been preparing for the long year ahead.

 The rumors are now fact as news has arrives by the raven peace is at hand.

 The houses for major families and influential people have receive a message, King Baelor the Blessed, the Septon King has come to an agreement with Dorne, the great houses of Martell and Targaryen will be joined by marrage. This will be a glorious event that will be spoken about for ages to come.

 However in The North it seems that The Vale and its neighbors are not all invited to this event.

The current Storyline;

 Lord Jasper of House Arryn will soon reach his 16th nameday, and a grand tourney and feast is in motion, Jasper's plans can finally be put in motion now that he is Lord of the Vale in his own right. Beyond that, the need of an heir presses on him. Still a very young man, and if his father still lived, he would not be looking to wed for a decade. However, there is already contention in the Vale over who his heir is, uncle Lord Danwell, the next male in line, or his eldest sister Leonella, who married into House Belmore.

Each player house consisting of their respected lords and or heirs are invited guest to the tourney for Jasper's 16th name day Grand Melee and Joust (which they were not invited to King's Landing for the royal wedding) These player houses are ally to House Arryn or are neutral parties, (they can not be at odds with House Arryn to receive an invitation, but this doesn't stop them from being in Gulltown if they so wish to go).

 The player houses would most likely travel in small groups (100 give or take) and their interests would be in handing off their daughters or competing in the tourney.
