In the midst of war, famine, and sorrow, a council of witches, warlocks and werewolves, vampires, demons, and fae, even a few humans came together to fight a new, common force that had poisoned the hearts of the others of their races against them. Brother fought sister. Friend fought friend. Husband fought wife. No one came out of the war unscathed, without the scars of losing friends and family. There were countless orphans left behind to somehow fend for themselves. The War of Dark Fates.
Near the end of the war, this council gathered with the intent to renew and reestablish the old races and families. Everything had been so damaged and ravaged, that it was agreed to interbreed and mate, of course with some regulations. It was also stated that a school would be built for these children, the orphans of the war, and the survivors and refugees. It would be a school of safety and unity for those who required it.
And so it has survived for the last three hundred years. The majority of the bloodlines are more or less pure, but there are those whose ancestors had not desired to isolate the traits of one race or another.
For the last 300 or so years, things have been quiet, allowing the comfort, safety, and general apathy for students and faculty to abound. However, rumors are growing and developing around and outside the school. Things are changing, and the world is growing more and more dangerous.
