Pathfinder vs. Zombies
I'd like to consider this game something that will try to emulate some of the zombie horde memes we see in movies, and tv, but in a medieval type setting. Characters will be in the Golarion world, in the city of Absalom.
For more than 4,000 years, Absalom (pronounced AB-sah-lahm) has been the City at the Center of the World, a metropolis-sized showcase of the greatest treasures in all Golarion. The importance and influence of Absalom upon the Inner Sea and the whole of Golarion can not be overstated. The city not only holds a key strategic position for both commercial and military endeavors in the region, but encompasses the site of the ascension of four deities and claims to have been founded by none other than the Last Azlanti, the god Aroden. It is not without reason that the passage of time throughout the Inner Sea region is counted in Absalom Reckoning.
East Gate Penitentiary - a prison run by the East Gate District, but allows for an entire wing of priests of Sarenae that has found some success in redemption. Attempting to provide training, and teachings of redemption, this prison has seen some positive successes.
You happen to be in Absalom on the day where an outbreak of zombies occurs. The closest most secure building is the East Gate Penitentiary. For whatever reason, whether it be the obvious connection that you are a guard, or employee, or volunteer of the prison, you could equally be a criminal, a magistrate, a City Watchmen escorting a recently convicted prisoner, or even merely a hired hand delivering the many supplies needed for the prison, such as food, gear, clothing, etc; or possibly one of the hired hands that have been brought in for the construction of the new wing of the prison. Additionally, you could be one of the worshipers of Saranae, devoted to redemption, you live out your beliefs by volunteering at the prison to act as a healer, or counselor, or chaplain.
There are other ways one could be near enough to seek safety within the prison walls, so feel free to suggest other ideas if it fits. The adventure will be starting within the walls of the prison, and it will soon be apparent just how unsafe things are going to get.
What always gets my attention is an interesting character concept. I have never accepted any requests that consist of just 'I want to play a human warrior by the name of Max Ironshield'. What does get my attention is a creative character concept that tells a little about their background, and motivation.
A character sheet does not need to be submitted in your initial request, as I won't be adding anyone based on numbers, but purely on interesting character concepts.
My goal is to have a somewhat faster paced game, where posts are occurring at least every second day, with daily bumps happening three or four days a week. So I suspect this will lead between 4-5 posts a week. If you are posting every third day regularly, then I would suspect you will not be able to keep up.
The adventure is going to involve the element of being inside of a prison on the day where a cataclysmic event occurs, and how do the citizens of Absalom deal with it. Characters start at 4th level, fast paced xp rate, with max gold for level. Attributes are 25 point buy.
Things that could come in handy are dungeoneering skills, and dealing with undead.
Expectations are that a suitable portrait will be used, and character description will also be filled out.
