The Golden Age of Piracy!

The Golden Age of Piracy! is a Freeform Adult game. There will be a loose GM-plot otherwise the players should be ready to treat the game as a GM-guided Sandbox game.

The game takes place on the Hades Gate, during the post-Spanish Succession period in the early 18th century, when Anglo-American sailors and privateers left unemployed by the end of the War of the Spanish Succession turned en masse to piracy in the Caribbean, the American eastern seaboard, the West and North African coast, and the Indian Ocean.

Have ye the guts to join Captain William Sharp on his journey of adventure and pillaging on the high seas?

Looking for all manner of characters to help make up the crew of the Hades Gate. While traditionally the crew positions would be held by menfolk, the Hades Gate and Captain Sharp are equal opportunity employers, all women are welcome to apply for any position.

Please have a look at the Pirate Crew thread for positions. If you think of a position not included please ask, I'm sure if it's reasonable we can come up with a suitable arrangement.

We also have positions open for prisoners/slaves hands, current or future.

This is not a game about historical accuracies. This game is for human characters only, though humans with strange traits and/or extraordinary talents or abilities will be considered on a case by case basis.

If you have questions it would be best to ask them in the RTJ.

The ship is underway, currently sailing around the island of Cuba on its way towards Cartagena with word of a great treasure, though what the treasure is exactly remains a mystery; a mystery the ship's latest panssenger might be able to shed light upon.

We have the following positions filled:
Captain, 1st Officer, Bosun, Ship's surgeon and a few other general crew members!

The ship is about to pull into the port of Cartagena. Still taking on more players!

Ship is about to leave port! We have new openings on the crew, stop by and have a look!

The Hades Gate is nearing the Islands of San Andreas, the Captain is entertaining his senior crew in his mess while the ship seeks refuge in an inlet to hide for the evening.

He has revealed to his crew he has a lead on a great treasure dating back to the 1300s. The next day they’ll be leaving to intercept a French ship carrying more proof and additional clues to the treasure’s whereabouts.

The ship could use additional crew members of all ilk.

Following a sudden and massive storm the Hades gate has been forced to drop anchor in a small inlet bay off one of the San Andres Islands. The crew ashore are trying to find and prepare wood to repair the damage done to the ship, while a mysterious stranger is discovered.

On the board the gate the remaining personnel are beginning to clean up after a perilous night where four members of the crew died tragically…
